At the Last Supper with his apostles on the eve of his passion Jesus anticipated, ie its free offering both symbolized and made it really present: "This is my body which is given for you "( Lk 22: 19): "This is my blood which is shed ... "( Matthew 26:28) So therefore instituted the Eucharist as "memorial" ( 1 Corinthians 11:25), slaughter and established his apostles as priests of the new alliance.
